Yearbook Introduction

Some elements a good book has is an index, table of contents, a theme that is pulled though the entire book, thematic modules, thematic graphics, as many pictures of people as possible, coverage of sports and clubs, and coverage of importance to the students.

1. The title is it's the little things
2. This book  is from Trinity High School
3. Throughout the book, the titles of the spreads and the names of people are not capitalized, important words are surrounded by a rounded box, circles and thin lives are on every page, modules have a solid background, on dividers, the same three pictures appear that match those on the cover, dividers have a solid black background while spreads have a solid white background.
4. There are three main sections, and 14 subsections throughout the book.
5. My favorite spread is equations for success on page 102 because it has great coverage of an academic class.
6. There is an index.
7. There are group photos.
8. There is a table of contents, although it isn't labeled.
9. There were 2,170 students the year the book was published.
10. This book is from Texas.

Magazine Cover Peer Review

Magazine I
1. The magazine is titled Alumni and it was designed by Aurora R.
2. Two things I like about Alumni is the title because it directly related to the picture and I liked the cover lines because they are directly related to the title and these things bring the magazine together.
3. One thing Aurora could do to improve the cover is to make sure that the colors of the cover lines stand out from the picture so all words can be easily read.
4. I picked this cover because the subject of the picture caught my eye, because she is happy, and because the title stood out from the background.
5. There is a barcode and it is appropriate in size and placement.
6. If I walked past this magazine I would look at it, but not pick it all the way up because the the title is somewhat eye-catching, but not so much that I would pick it up.
7. This is a self-portrait because the subject is clearly the designer of the cover.

1. The magazine is titled We Hate Holidays and it was designed by Ian M.
2. Two things I like about We Hate Holidays are the title, because it is eye-catching, and the picture, because it is also eye-catching and it creates a sense of curiosity.
3. One thing Ian could to to improve the cover is to make cover lines shorter so they are easier to read.
4. I picked this cover because the bright colors of the picture caught my eye and because the title was a bright color that also caught my eye.
5. There is a barcode and it is slightly big, and correctly placed.
6. I would pick this magazine up because the title makes me wonder about the content.
7. This is a portrait because the subject cannot be the designer of the cover.

1. The magazine is titled Replace and it is designed by Madison Wright.
2. Two things I like about this magazine are the colors of the cover lines, because they are eye-catching, and the way the title goes behind the subject.
3. One thing Madison can do to improve the cover is to rethink placement and length of some cover lines.
4. I picked this cover because the use of a cut out eye in the picture caught my eye.
5. There is a barcode and it is appropriate in size and location.
6.  I would look at this magazine, but no pick it up because the subject is interesting, but the cover lines that would be visible aren't interesting to me.
7. This is a self-portrait because the subject is clearly the designer of the cover.

Prompt Shoot Peer Review

My favorite image was the one of the path because it exhibited excellent use of the rule of photography Lines, and because it was in black and white, which added to the theme of The End.
My least favorite image was the one of the leaves because the footprint wasn't immediately identifiable.
Caitlin shows excellent subject choice and photography skills through her interpretations of the prompts and angle from which she took the pictures.
One area Caitlin could improve her photography skills in is portraying rules of photography in her photographs.
I think that the best prompt Caitlin portrayed was The End (the first photograph) because the theme was well conveyed and the tranquil feel is a big help in conveying the theme.
The prompt I felt Caitlin portrayed least successfully was Footprints because the footprint wasn't easily identifiable and because the rules of photography aren't as evident.

2015

This image is one of my favorites from the past year because it shows that the United States is a place for equality and that equality extends to people of all lifestyles. It also shows that the United States Government is not based on any religious beliefs, but on worldly beliefs.

This image is one of my favorites from the past year because it shows the huge differences between the two locations and it looks really cool with the amount of light from the fireworks and the illumination of the storm clouds.

I particularly like this image because it represents advancement in science and it shows that there is still water on Mars that runs occasionally. In addition, this image also shows that humanity is one step closer to living on Mars.

Best Song of 2015
One of my favorite songs of the last year was Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran because the lyrics convey a sense of love and happiness. I also like this song because of the way its sung, the words can be understood and the way that the music flows leaves my happy. In addition, I the song wasn't overplayed, from what I heard, so I never got sick of it.

Best Movie of 2015
One of my favorite movies of the last year was Avengers: Age of Ultron because I really like action movies and I love Marvel movies. In addition, the movie added another women to the team and the movie had excellent character development with most of it's characters. There was action as well as comedy and romance, some of my favorite genres.

Most Important News Story of 2015
The most important news story of the last year was the European Refugee Crisis, because the media coverage inspired others to help with the crisis and show that our problems are not as bad as we think. In addition the coverage impacted many lives though the inspiration it instilled in the hearts of many.

Most Important Person of 2015
The person of the year should be Caitlyn Jenner because her coming out as a transgender inspired many others to do the same and sparked the debate about equal rights for the LGBT+ community. In addition, she social/economic status has shed light on the LGBT+ community though the media, causing the debate to come to the surface, instead of at the bottom of the stack, where many people want it to stay.

Over the holiday, I was given a bookcase for Christmas, so I spent a couple days setting it up in my room and transferring my books from all over the house to their new spot. I also received many new books and book recommendations to read.
My resolutions for this year are to stay on top of my homework and to get more sleep as well as read more books.
The things I am most looking forward to this year are getting my Driving License and reading Dante's Inferno in English.
