Lone Star Dispatch #4

Front Page: SL Parade on March 10
The Student Leadership class has planned a parade and rally to gather awareness about bullying and discrimination. The class has been planned this event since September and have had many hoops to jump through to get this plan in motion. Many school groups will participate in this event and there is a small competitive element in designing the banners.

News: Freshman Katelyn Dill takes home grand champion award
Bowie students were able to judge elementary science fair projects in order to inspirer them to continue in science. Students were also able to participate in the Bowie science fair with the projects that they completed. Katelyn Dill won the Bowie Science Fair and she's new to Austin.

Sports: Swiftly overcoming obstacles
Two freshman are involved in parkour as well as their church and different teams in school. The boys are good people and are focused on what they are involved in. Their sport is also really dangerous and they take proper precautions to ensure that they don't get hurt.

Entertainment: Silver stars continue to practice throughout the year
Silver stars have to be ready to practice by 7:30 every morning and they don't get to sleep in on late starts. The team is always perfecting and improving their programs. The silver stars are also hosting a competition that requires lots of outside work, time and effort from everybody associated with the program.

Commentary: Painted parking spots aren't going to persuade
The incentives won't convince people to keep their attendance up. The students may not care about the incentives or the incentives won't apply to them. The current incentives are okay, but could be better.
